To help individuals with disabilities lead happy, productive lives. The Ability Center of Virginia offers day and summer programs in support of those in our community with different physical and intellectual abilities. Our mission is to help bridge the gap between typically abled individuals and those with different abilities while promoting skill development and peer to peer interaction.
Our Local Mission is to give 500 + homeless students enrolled in VBCPS a “JUMP START” on the new school year by providing everything they need to succeed in school and boast their self esteem
At the ARDX Foundation, our mission is “Shining a Light” on Mental Wellness to address the Mental Health epidemic that is affecting our communities across our country. This issue has an even greater impact on our most vulnerable populations; including women, youth, and the elderly living in disadvantaged communities.

Center for Child & Family Services
The Center is a comprehensive counseling and support services offering programs and services that empower people to face life’s challenges. We offer services that range from debt, housing, budget and financial education counseling, mental health, Trauma counseling, domestic violence intervention counseling, anger management to adults and youth, youth and young adult substance abuse counseling, job readiness to people with barriers to employment such as criminal records, parental visitation services for foster care and court services, services to youth aging out of foster care and child care provider educational training and support services to increase the quality of care .
CHIP – Children’s Health Investment Program
Prenatal to Kindergarten, Children’s Health Investment Program (CHIP) is helping kids right from the start. CHIP provides services in Hampton Roads for children through age six and expectant mothers in the focus areas of health improvement, school readiness and self-sufficiency.
Chesapeake Bay Academy
To educate students through academic programs individualized to address their learning differences, empowering them with the skills and confidence necessary for success in higher education, careers and life.
Eliza Hope Foundation
To provide early intervention with multidisciplinary therapies, board-certified therapist, and the equipment necessary to meet the unique learning needs of child and family. They provide educational and therapeutic support for children and families who are living with Autism Spectrum disorders in the Hampton Roads area and beyond. Service will focus on meeting developmental, language, motor and behavioral needs.
EQUI-KIDS Therapeutic Riding Program
To provide, promote and support equine-assisted activities for individuals who have mentally, physically, emotionally, socially or learning disabling conditions. The vision of the organization is to be recognized as the premier therapeutic riding program in the United States, upholding the highest standards of excellence to serve special needs individuals. Through our mission, we strive to create impactful, positive, life-changing experiences for our participants, donors, volunteers and the community at large.
Envisioning a future where no child is homeless, ForKids establishes partnerships with families to start the process of achieving self-sufficiency. ForKids provides crisis response, housing & critical services, and children’s education, all designed to achieve long-term stability for families and a lifetime of success for children.

Pink Collar Cares
Promoting positive self-image in today’s youth. PCC distributes personal care kits to children in need. Each package includes hygiene essentials needed to arrive to school properly groomed.
Norfolk CASA’s mission is to support and promote court appointed volunteer advocacy so that every abused and neglected child can be safe from harm, establish permanency, and have the opportunity to thrive.
Old Dominion Athletic Foundation
To raise financial support for Old Dominion University Athletics and to ensure that our coaches and student-athletes have the resources necessary to compete for championships.
Special Olympics Virginia – Virginia Beach Area 2
We provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. This gives them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.
With the assistance of community partners, reduce the effects of poverty by assisting low and moderate wage earners and economically disadvantaged residents of Eastern Virginia achieve self-sufficiency through program and service initiatives which encompass education, employment, housing and health for the improvement of their quality of life.
Storehouse Food Pantry
To provide food for families, homeless, working poor and the needy in and around the Virginia Beach area. To provide a reference point for additional services in the area.
The Don Carey Reech Foundation
To provide students opportunities that will lead to increase academic achievement and exposure to diverse arenas. We believe this will ultimately inspire them to reach their maximum potential and become significant contributors to society. Our primary goal is to encourage students to explore STEM but we also emphasize physical and mental wellbeing, social and moral responsibility and vocational and collegiate preparation.
Toby’s Dream Foundation
Ensures that children with life-threatening illnesses, living in Hampton Roads and beyond, have the opportunity and resources to imagine and experience their most fantastic dream. These are children with cancer, brain tumors, rare syndromes and in some cases they are waiting for life-giving transplants.

Advocating for the best interests of children involved in the court process. Promotes safe, permanent homes for all children and seeks to educate the community concerning the needs of abused and neglected children.
